Separation
anxiety is the name used to describe certain behaviors exhibited by
dogs who become excessively anxious when separated from the company of
their owners.
The
manifestations of separation anxiety rage from mild to severe. In some
cases, the dog may whine for several minutes after being left alone and
then settle down to await the return of his person. In more extreme
cases, the dog may case serious destruction of property by chewing or
scratching wooden door frames and doors. The dog may cause himself harm
by jumping through a window or climbing or digging into a dangerous
situation.
Avid
readers will realize there was no Summer 1999 issue--welcome to the
reality of working full time and volunteering "full time" in
rescue.
For this reason, we are now seeking a NEWSLETTER EDITOR who
will spend an hour or two per quarter (or more if you choose)
selecting, soliciting or composing the lead story and perhaps uploading
a picture or two. No special web page knowledge needed--it's a
simple drop-and-drag editing program. Contact Diane for more
details.
