Every Saturday:  "Dog Day Mornings" at the Peninsula Humane Society. Socialize your dog with others. Large dogs 9:30-10:30 am, small dogs 10:30-11:30 am every Saturday. Call (650) 340-7022, ext. 784 for more information.

Every Monday"Dinner at Zazie," 5:30-9:30 PM, Zazie Restaurant, 941 Cole St, San Francisco. On Monday nights, dog owners are allowed to bring their well-behaved pooches to the restaurant's lovely, secluded patio.  Reservations recommended, Call (415) 564-5332.

First Tuesday of every month"Pet Loss Support Group," 7:30 to 9:00pm, SF/SPCA, 243 Alabama St., San Francisco. A Pet Loss Support group for grieving pet owners. Grief counselor Dr. Betty Carmack moderates the group and resource booklets will be available at the meeting. It is free and no registration is necessary. For more information, call (415) 554-3050.

DWA Classes:  Dogs with an "Attitude" --  Berkeley, CA
Training class for dog-aggressive dogs and their people.  Six weekly sessions.  If your dog growls, barks, lunges or fights with other dogs, this may be the class for you.  Classes include a scientific approach to behavior modification combined with the most modern and gentle approach to animal training.  If you're at your wit's end, call the Berkeley East Bay Humane Society at (510) 845-7735 ext 22. 

SIRIUS® offers classes for Puppies and Adolescent/Adult Dogs. 
SIRIUS® Training Classes are offered at 15 convenient locations in the San Francisco Bay Area: Berkeley (Live Oak Park & Berk.Humane Soc.), Concord, Cupertino, Fremont, Los Gatos, Menlo Park, Mill Valley, Oakland, Palo Alto, San Francisco (SOMA and Lake Merced), San Ramon, San Jose, and Walnut Creek.

Contact the Association of Pet Dog Trainers for trainers and classes elsewhere.

Also look up under "Dog Training/Dog Classes" for local "dog training clubs," which can offer very affordable and effective training classes.
